The Rug Mine, recently featured on CBS Sunday Morning News, is seeking a dedicated and versatile Gallery Manager for our showroom in Vista, CA. This is a unique opportunity to be the face of our nationally recognized brand, working closely with the business owner and driving our mission to empower Afghan artisans, especially women. Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationships: Work with interior design clients both locally and nationally, providing expert advice and personalized service.
  • Design Consultation: Utilize your knowledge of design, interior design, and color theory to assist clients in their selections.
  • Independence and Initiative: Operate independently, multitask effectively, and perform under high-pressure situations without constant supervision.
  • Client Service: Provide exceptional service to high-end clientele, understanding and catering to their unique needs.
  • Client Engagement: Greet and assist clients, showcasing and flipping through heavy rugs to find the perfect match.
  • Sales and Commissions: Act as the sole salesperson on the floor with opportunities to earn commission on most showroom floor sales.
  • Cultural Knowledge: Develop a deep understanding of the different types of rugs, materials, and quality to educate clients.
  • Social Media Management: Create and post engaging content, including videos, on social media platforms like Instagram. Regularly market The Rug Mine on social media, including live sessions and TikTok. You must be confident, camera-ready, and articulate.
  • Showroom Maintenance: Maintain the showroom’s aesthetic and organization from start to finish.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct regular inventory checks of our luxury Afghan rugs, both online and physically in the showroom.

Qualifications:

  • Adaptability: Highly adaptable, resilient, and capable of multitasking under very stressful situations.
  • Skills and Experience: Superior writing, communication, and computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft spreadsheets and Google documents.
  • Color Identification: Seasoned understanding of colors and their different shades, with the ability to quickly identify colors when looking at a rug or palette.
  • Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 100 pounds independently and regularly, using safe and proper weight-lifting techniques.
  • Design Expertise: Experience in design and interior design, with a keen eye for color theory.
  • Cultural Interest: Deep interest and curiosity in the cultures of different countries, particularly relating to Eastern studies.
  • Client Service: Exceptional background in client service, particularly in a luxury-retail setting.
  • Social Media Savvy: Exceptional experience creating and managing social media content. Must be confident and comfortable speaking on camera.
  • Transportation: Reliable transportation required.
