Client Reviews

"Nargis is by far the most pleasant and accomodating vendor I've dealt with in many years. My rug was a 'made to order' request and she worked with her artisans to create a stunning rug for my dining area. It's exactly what I wanted and was well worth the wait. She prices affordably, keeps you updated proactively, responds very quickly to any questions, and professionally bundles the rugs to arrive safe and sound. It's an easy 5-star experience and I highly recommend her."

Who are we?

Salam ("hello") — welcome to my shop!

My name is Nargis, and I am the owner of The Rug Mine. As an Afghan woman raised on Afghan rugs, I am passionate about how lives can play out on them. Whether it’s toddlers learning to crawl or families coming together for board game nights, my quality, durable rugs serve as canvases for your memories.

Best of all, my rugs are meant to make you feel good in your space. Each new rug is made by seasoned artisans who, like me, are dedicated to superior quality, empowering women, and crafting fair trade, sustainable rugs.

I look forward to personally helping you find a quality rug.

Quality.

You will find superior quality both in our rugs and service.

All Rug Mine rugs are made with Afghanistan's premium Ghazni (an Afghan province) wool, which is prized for its resilience, softness, and character. We use natural dyes found from fruits, vegetables, and plants. And each knot in every rug is individually hand-woven by Afghanistan's most seasoned artisans. The result is a quality heirloom rug.

Depending on size, quality, and design, it could take up to a year or more to craft a single rug. Watch our video to see how artisans create the world's finest handmade rugs.

Sustainability.

Artisans are the heart and soul of our small business. We seek to uplift their communities by purchasing organic materials locally, including our hand-spun wool and natural dyes.

As a female-owned small business, we strive to empower Afghan women. The majority of the artisans we partner with are women.

Family.

We are a family-oriented business and value your family, too.
